Pentecost is the 50th day after Easter. Pentecost is when the Holy Spirit came upon the Disciples enabling them to speak in tongues.
The Apostles were empowered by the Holy Spirit to teach the messages of Jesus to all people. Pentecost is when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples in tongues of fire. These tongues of fire enabled them to speak in different languages.
This happened because the Holy Spirit wanted them to preach God's word so that all nationalities around the world could learn and understand more about God.
This was also the beginning of the Christian Church as we no it today, because the Apostles went out to preach the word of God. This is also known in the Bible as the Acts of the Apostles. The Acts of the Apostles starts in the Gospel of Luke, explaining how the early Church started. It shows how the church was formed and how the first Christians spread the Good News, staring in Jerusalem and ending in Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire.
John 7: 37-39
